Monday Already?

Well good morning Monday! Does it get any better than this?
Only if you consider...tulips x 2...served on a platter! I mean mirror!
On another positive note, I had my first iris sighting for the month and it is in my very own yard! Yay! I saved irises from my mother's iris beds and these are special to me. I've heard people call irises "poor man's orchids". I'm anxiously waiting to see what other colors bloom this year. Once again, I can't wait to be "re amazed" with the intricate beauty deep inside each fragile glittering petal.
I keep finding this green color on the old trim of the house as I uncover more and more of the original siding. I have found it accented with a raspberry color. So it appears that the original body of the house was painted white, trimmed with green, accented with raspberry. Can you believe it! You know I love those colors, though for my personal tastes in 2008, I would mute that just a tad. Do you remember this blog post from a few days ago? Yummy colors, huh? Quite by accident, a few hours ago, I found out if you "googled" cottage style porch pictures,
that blog posting came up as item # 10. I wonder if it would still show up today? Those google entries change very quickly.
Saturday, we were excitedly surprised to uncover under 2 layers, the shadows of the house numbers. And we were even more surprised to realize that the numbers I had just pulled from the house to start removing the siding underneath, fit that spot perfectly...the shape, nail holes, the nails, yep it all appeared to be the same numbers in use all these years.
So life continues to be an adventure. I'm sure that though it is Monday already, it will prove to be no exception. Have a wonderful day!
Love, Rachel

Hello Rachel. Your flowers are so pretty. I'm happy for you that you could save some special irises from your mother's home. That thought brings tears to me.

You are making progress and it is fun to watch. Thanks for posting the details.

I still have this silly cold. I am going to leave my post another day. It seems that so many are getting cancer and I am just not feeling like changing it yet. We are participating in a fundraiser tonight for a wife and mother of two dying of colon cancer. It's so sad. God is involved in it all, and we trust Him.

Your flowers have cheered me. Hugs, Kathi

Hi Rachel,
That original siding would make the most beautiful shelves or picture frames, it's what we pay the big bucks for!! Have a great day. Banner pictures are on the way.

Hugs,
LeAnn :)

Oh, yum! I love the smell of irises! Enjoy it for me! I'm so happy you were able to get bulbs from Mother's garden. That is really special! Your flower is beautiful!

And the tulips are gorgeous! These must be the flowers you and little Miss Princess were picking Saturday!

I'm happy for what you're getting done on your house! That is such a wonderful feeling!

Have a great day!
