Concern

On Friday, May 30, our area was pelted with thunderstorms and tornadoes. The weather has been stormy and fretful for several days. Our church has served as a Red Cross Shelter since that Friday evening. It has been so interesting to see the 2 organizations work side by side to try to meet the needs of people all week. It has been a seamless process, by all appearances, with many activities being restructured to accommodate the needs of others.
This past Friday night, 10 inches of rain fell within 5 hours as thunderstorms moved through surrounding areas. My heart is full of compassion and concern for thousands who have lost their homes, farms and businesses to flood water and thunderstorms.

Hear my prayer, O Lord; let my cry for help come to you. Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly.
Old Testament Psalm 102 verses 1 and 2 NIV

Very caring post for all those that have been affected... You are very thoughtful! How neat that your church is serving as the Red Cross Center! Hope that you all are doing well! (I loved the pictures of "Ivory's room"....very creative!)

What a terrbile thing for people to go through.
Hope that the water soon subsides and things can start getting back to something near normal for everyone.
