Punch Bowls

Do you use your punch bowls? I use mine a lot. A friend didn't want the milk glass one shown in the photo above, so she gave it to me. I love it! And then I got 2 others a while ago for $2 and $3 when I was "thrifting". We love to entertain, so they come in handy for serving popcorn, or chips, lettuce salads, fluffy jello salads, peeled and sliced apples to dip in caramel and the list of uses goes on and on. You can use them for anything that you need to hold a large quantity. Of course I've used them to serve punch.
Then the little tiny cups...what to do with them? Well, I've used them as individual servers for salsa, alfredo dip and caramel sauce among a few uses. It's so fun. Pull out the glass ware and have someone over or a bunch of people as usually happens in our home!
But please don't tell anyone that I've served popcorn to my guests! However they usually walk in and say, "yum, popcorn"! Sometimes I can't pop it fast enough!
Yes, it's fun! That's why we love to have people over.
Have a poppin' fun Saturday folks and I'll talk to ya tomorrow!
Love, Rachel

Dear Rachel,
That does sound like a good, fun idea. How about the fudge candy? It is fun to "hide" some of it, in the bottom of the popcorn bowl. We use to do that.
Have a wonderful day, God has given us another one, we must be grateful and use it for Him.
Love you, Donnie

I think my crystal punch bowl looks wonderful with roses floating in it. Sometimes, I just can't cut my roses with long stems without losing a bunch of yet to bloom buds, so I just cut them short and float them. Sally

Hi Rachel...Just a quick note about the punch bowl...

My mom bought a gorgeous one in 1950 and used it at her wedding to my father in 1955. I used it at mine in 1978, my daughter in 2007 and my son last year. Isn't that wonderful? We will pass it down as more weddings take place!

I found one on eBay just like it and opted to buy it so we'd have an extra one...just in case! Well, took it out to use it and promptly broke it! ARGH!

Should have stayed using the original! Jinxed myself! :)

Hi Rachel! I love punch bowls- but ironically enough do not have one. I know they are usually quite inexpensive so I know I can always pick one up if I truly felt the need. I agree- they can have a myriad of uses above and beyond punch. Have a wonderful day!

The milkglass punchbowl is beautiful. YES, I use my punchbowl. It was my husband's grandmothers. It has a huge crystal plate that the punch bowl sits on that makes it look very elegant. It is our tradition for birthdays, parties, holidays. We love our punch bowl!

You reminded me, I think I have one in the attic that I'd forgotten about! I'll have to go look for it (when it gets warmer). I like the milk glass one, too. Thanks for the ideas. Have a wonderful and blessed day.

That milk glass punch bowl would go perfect with my milk glass cake plate! We should get together and have a party! I'll bring the pretty cake on it's pedestal and you bring the punch in that bowl, K? LOL! ;)

Hi Rachel,
You have such a fun post! I like punch bowls too. I have a beauty that my brother gave me when I was first married. I'll have to share it one of these days. It has made it to showers and weddings and all sorts of special occasions. Fudge candy underneath popcorn sounds like my kind of treat. Mmmmm! Never thought of putting salsa in the cups; great idea!

Blessings,
Sandi
