I took this photo in August, at a house that was sitting empty, on a property on which we were marking boundary lines. I wondered...what kind of birds lived here? Are they gone for good? How many babies chirped and peered over the edge of their cozy home; finally testing their wings for their first flight beyond its' border?
It is a very nice and spacious nest! It's solid with mud and wrapped with long strands of field grass. However today the weather is cold and windy. It's raining and snow is in the impending forecast. Still I wonder...hum, are the birds gone for good? Surely they will be just fine...we will all be just fine! sigh
Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young- a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are every praising you.
Old Testament Psalm chapter 84, verse 3 NIV
Have a wonderful and restful day!
Love, Rachel

Haven't had time to go back and check out your past posts. Sure hope all is well and happy. If I don't get back by before the big Holiday please know that I think of you often and wish you the very best!

What a sweet post. :)
I'm so grateful for my own warm home. It's the time of year we all want to snuggle in. I think the little birds were warm and cozy in their nest too.
