An Update

I think an earthquake is such an amazing phenomenon! Yes scary, but still amazing! As far as I know we were not having one when this photo above was taken!
Many of you may remember when I shared in this posting in May, about the Chinese team who won the Championship for the Vex Robotics Competition, and wondered if they were affected by the quake in China. To the amazement of my family and me, a person who helped to plan the Competition, Mr. Joel Carter, left a comment on that posting. We received a follow up email yesterday. I have copied it to this blog posting for those of you who may be interested.
Rachel,
Sorry for the delay but it’s taken all summer for word to filter back that none of the students on the VEX robotics teams from Chengdu, China we’re impacted by the earthquake. Please pass this good news along to anyone who might be interested. Our thoughts are with those who were less fortunate in this tragic event.

With the opening ceremonies of the Olympics beginning today, I think it is so exciting to be bringing this news to you. And Mr. Carter, I appreciate your consideration in letting us know this information.

Speaking of the Olympics, I hope and pray that all of the athletes and spectators at the Olympics will be safe, and these next days will truly be a celebration of mental focus and physical skill and endurance.

Have a wonderful Friday.

Love, Rachel

What a wonderful word! I'm so happy the team members were all safe! That is very kind of Mr. Carter to research into that and let us know.

I hope your day is a good one!

Your earthquake picture made me dizzy. It is scary being in an earthquake.
