Last night the boys wanted ice cream...homemade ice cream.
"Mom, we'll go buy anything you need for it."
"We definitely need sugar. Just get Great Value brand."
When they returned home I looked and looked for the sugar. There it was sitting on the floor. Uh hello, where else, of course. I picked it up. What 10 pounds? TEN pounds of white sugar. I almost laughed out loud. I could just see the guys putting this in the shopping cart. I've never bought a ten pound bag of sugar in my entire life. Uumm, not that I'm so old or anything, I just haven't.
smile
This bag should last a while.
Now that is my confession for today (never having purchased a 10# bag of sugar). But you just gotta LLUUVVV a teenage boy/son/man?!
"Thanks mom! It was REALLY good!"
That's all I needed to hear!
Love, Rachel
P.S. Do you like the design on this little dessert dish? It is the same one on the broken plated mentioned a couple of days ago. LUV IT!

There you go with the dishes again! I posted about our "obsession" with the shabby chic china today, too!

I buy 10 pounds of sugar when it's cheaper, but I've discovered that it's usually cheaper by the 5# bag. Isn't that weird? You gotta watch those retailers! They're tricky like that!

Glad it turned out so well, Rachel.

At least you'll have sugar for a while, how sweet of them to go get everything so they could enjoy your wonderful ice cream. It reminds me of the Anne of Green Gables when Matthew goes & buys 20 lbs of brown sugar (fresh in my mind, just saw it last weekend again...).

Yes, I love your plate, you've always got the nicest things.

What a cute post. It reminded me of Matthew in Anne of Green Gables when he went to buy material for a dress for Anne and asked for 50 lbs. of sugar because he was so embarrased to ask for what he really needed.
Sounds yummy! I made your ice cream this summer and it really is a great recipe! Thanks for sharing.
