Flowers In May!

I'm sure it comes as no surprise when I say that I LOVE flowers. I've really tried to "nail down" a favorite and I just can't. Absolutely cannot choose! The intricate qualities of each blossom and the translucent pattern of the petals scattered with a natural sparkle akin to glitter fascinate me. How can something sprout from hard cold soil...dirt...just plain 'ole' dirt and become this? Um, I realize the DIRT doesn't become this...but you know what I mean. Just the whole process...miraculous!
The way flowers hold drops of dew which sparkle like diamonds on the tippy tip of their petals and resist the pressure of wind and rain, all the while showing their beauty, is a phenomenon beyond my comprehension.
Karla called and asked if she could share this story on her blog and I said, "Sure, why not?"
We talked about stuff and giggled like little school girls! Maybe?...I think we did!
So if you wanna read about the memory, it's over there.
Somehow I feel well...? I guess I feel...I can't describe how I feel, but hearing her read this over the phone washed waves of memories over me like sheets of rain over the flowers in a Spring rain.
And I miss my momma!

Thanks for being my "friend" Karla!
Love, Rachel
P.S. Oh and if you love the way my blog looks...tell Karla. She did it!

It was fun sharing the memory! Looking back, we did share an unusual childhood, though at the time we thought it was perfectly normal! Do you think that makes us interesting people? LOL!

Are the irises and lilacs blooming there now? They aren't here, yet. My lilacs are budding, though... Can't wait!

Hi Rachel,
Those flowers are gorgeous! I can almost smell the lilacs. BTW, I LOVE the look of your blog! I would have a pink toile background too but didn't want to copy yours. Karla did an amazing job! Thank you for dropping by today and for your wonderful wishes. Have a lovely day!

Blessings,
Sandi

Your floral bouquet is lovely! I also would be at a loss to name my favorite flower (as well as color). They are so much prettier when mixed :-)
Your toile background is fabulous!

Flowers ARE all little miracles, even the dandelion...if you take a close look at it, it's quite intricate. God is the best artist!

Rachel, Your blog is very pretty. Karla did a great job. I love those pretty flowers.

I'm sorry I am just now getting back to you about rhubarb. Some of mine are green. I really think the flavor is the same; green or red. One thing I know is that if it gets old it gets spongy and what they call "woody." You want tender crisp pieces. Think of the texture as you would cellery. You don't want it limp either. Never soak your rhubarb in water. It's best to cut it and rinse it, then freeze or can it. Have a good day. Hugs, Kathi
