Claudia's Porch

I am pleased to feature Claudia's porch for the month of March. You will enjoy meeting Claudia and learning about her life and work far away from the comfort of her husband, doggies, friends and home. This is what Claudia has to say about her cozy porch.
"I grew up with a porch. In my suburban neighborhood, it was the place we sat and talked, called out to our neighbors, read, ate, sheltered from the rain and sat watching the 4th of July fireworks.

When we were looking for a house to buy, we had many ‘wants’. One of them was a porch. On the day we saw our house for the first time, we walked onto the porch and saw that it was a wraparound porch
with a lovely railing and a floor made of blue stone. I stood there and thought, ‘This is it.’
Many of the things on our want list didn’t come to be, but the porch was better than we ever dreamed.
It is full of potted and hanging plants, an old rusty glider (that I wouldn’t change) with comfy cushions, a wicker rocker, some wooden benches and a table. The dogs love nothing better than to lie there looking at the world outside, while I read or knit and my husband plays his guitar. I can survey my garden and all is right with the world.
I love my porch and hope it is a welcome sight to those who pass by."
Claudia, thank you for sharing your darling porch with us. Thank you sweet blog friends for hopping over to Claudia's blog and getting to know her. You'll be glad you did.
Have a wonderful day, y'all.
Love, Rachel

What a lovely porch - truly inspiring. Makes me realize, I need to place "prissy up the porch" on my weekly "to do" list.

I, too have a wraparound porch, but it's much smaller than this one. How lovely and relaxing it looks! I enjoy quiet times rocking and listening to the quiet on my porch. I can't wait for the nicer weather to be able to get outside and fix mine up and get out the rugs and wicker...and plant the flowers!

Hi Rachel,
Such a lovely porch you have found. I love the stone floor and I could easily imagine myself sitting out there on the swing with a glass of lemonade and a good book.
Thanks for sharing!

LOVE it! Especially that fabulous floor. How wonderful is that??? Lucky, lucky you. I'm green....

I've lived in lots of houses with puny porches. Not even big enough to put a little "somethin" on......My porch isn't very big, but at least I can put a few things on it. We decorating girls sure love another place to put stuff, don't we?

Blessings to you......
