I Do Have Choices

Life can just get flat~out~ wacky~ sometimes...no matter how hard we strive to maintain control or keep things balanced. Situations can sometimes be beyond our control. I can easily become "paralyzed", so to speak, by negative words and emotions. When I allow myself to hash and rehash in my mind or hear those things which I cannot change, I can easily be filled with fear of the future and uncertainty of the unknown. I am ever challenged with balance and maintaining focus of purpose.
However I do have choices! I will share two of them here!
1~ Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me - put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
New Testament Philippians chapter 4 verses 8 & 9
2~ When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid.
Old Testament Psalm chapter 56 verses 3 & 4
I choose to fill my mind with excellence and praise and trust. Have I perfected this technique? No, but I still work at it...life seems better when I change my focus and try to gain a new perspective.

I love this so much! I have been thinking much in the same direction with the way the world is so uncertain right now. I think that's why junking, decorating and blogging are so good, they keep our minds on things that are lovely. Of course we keep our minds on him and our families too!

Hi Rachel,

Bless your sweet little heart. What a comfort your words (GOD'S WORD) were to me. The verse I've hung onto for years when I have a glitch in life is Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. Plans to prosper and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Isn't that precious? I painted it on the bathroom wall at my old house so I couldn't help but see it..... :-)

Hello,
My first time here. I wrote about porches last year on my blog. I dropped my eyes and saw that desk. It was the very same as my desk...growing up. It was a wooden finish at that time. It was passed on down the line...through family. During the 60's and 70's, when antiquing furniture was popular it was was painted green,then blue and finally gold. I don't know who has it now or the color. Thanks for the memory.Love your blog.
