when you can't sleep? Usually I continue to lie there, until the appropriate time to get up, because I believe our bodies need rest at least one time within each 24 hour time frame! I think our bones and muscles need to feel relief of the strain of the busy ~ ness that is waiting when we rise.
Other times I get up and sit in the quiet and read...learn, soak up inspiration, and renew my mind. Or I write, put my thoughts on paper to empty the space in which they swirl.
What do you do when you can't sleep?
Love, Rachel
Thankfully the sleepless nights are rare for me. I'm home today so I'm available for the princess to come play if you need some get 'er done time :-) or maybe sleep. ha Just let me know.
ReplyDeleteA couple of nights a week, I have some sleepless time. I always have a much needed long time of prayer during those times. Have a great Easter week. Sally
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI have a few sleepless nights. Those are the times I lay in bed and pray. I refuse to allow the enemy any victory over my wakefullness!

Hi! just beautiful post!!!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh my, what a beautiful site! It's my first time visit and I felt so refreshed just looking around.
ReplyDeleteYou ask about sleepless nights. It don't have a lot of them, but when I do, most often, I'll turn on my bedside lamp and read or write out some thoughts or prayers in my journal -- hubby's quite used to lights going on at all hours!
One thing I quit doing a long time ago is fretting about it. I stay in a restful place of mind until my eyes grow sleepy again. Seems to work for me.
I mostly stay in bed and read and pray and plan for the activities coming up - and try to come up with answers to whatever situation kept me awake that night!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful week!
Love, Esther
I get up, take an extra strength Tylenol, go back to bed and pray for others. Usually this relaxes me and I drop off to sleep eventually.

Beautiful pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteBecause I work third shift...I frequently have periods of insomnia...Planning the next day or week, enjoying quiet time for devotions, or reading a good book are some of "my" sleepless activities!(Tonight~~I am blog surfing! LOL!) Fun post...
Hi! This is my first time to leave a comment. I'm enjoying viewing your blogspot.
ReplyDeleteI have experience in the not sleeping department. After I got tired of lying awake for hours on end, I use to completely rearrange the kitchen cabinets as well as rooms, read, listen to music, pray.
After a year of using sleeping aids and waking up cranky, I was a changed woman when I heard about MELATONIN and used it.
It's very affordable and for pennies a tab, this over the counter product helped me to fall asleep and wake up refreshed!
Melatonin helped my body return to a healthy sleep pattern. I seldom have difficulty falling asleep these days.
GOD BLESS YOU,
Deanna
I used to worry, worry, worry...NO LOL, there!
