Violets and Dandelions
I can't wait until these pretty little splashes of color begin to appear in our lawn. Do you like random "pretty - ness" to grow in your yard, or do you prefer a green carpet of only grass?
Oh Rachel...those violets remind me of growing up! We used to pick them and the dandelions too, for our May Day baskets to our mom! Ahhhh, the memories!
I wouldn't mind dandelions at all if they stayed the pretty yellow but I don't enjoy when they become long ugly stems the next day after having just mowed. It takes money to have the lush green carpet sooo....you may catch me bent over in the yard taking care of my not so lush lawn this summer. ha
I don't mind the dandelions at all. They are only around so long. Besides when they appear, you know the warm weather really is on the way. Have a lovely day.
Well since my yard is full of dandelions I have to say I like them! But I really love the violets that grown in the grass! Thanks for reminding me of spring. Esther
I mostly have moss in my grass!:( We have such a battle every year with it, this year I am just going to ignore it...
The little violets are so sweet in the lawn, I would much rather have that then moss.
Hope all is well with you, bet you can't wait to be spending time on your porch, is it warming up there yet? We had 45' today, but still not porch weather. XO, Donna Lynn
Seeing as we live in an apartment I dont get a choise of what is in the lawn, but I LOVE to see random paches of colorful flowers on the side of the road.
Hi Rachel, It is spring here, but already in the high 70's and low 80's but I love it. The violets are pretty and soom I hope you will have warmer weather.
Oh Rachel, How funny! I had pics of the very same - dandelions, purple violets and white clover in addition to some kind of yellow flower - all survivors of my mulching lawn mower. I loved them all when I first moved to Georgia, but since putting in beds and fighting them, we are now mortal enemies. :-)
Thank you so much for taking time to leave a comment. It is sorta like a sweet visit on the porch. In this busy world with so many places to go and things to do, I value the time you spend here with me.
it depends on what it is...weed or wonderful!!!!

ReplyDeleteI confess that I love the lush green carpet of a golf course even though I don't golf.
