There, That's Better!

I liked this just the way it was. The print of the tiny couple kissing, hanging below a rescued piece of window trim, brought me joy. I was happy!

UNTIL...a few days ago I spotted this forlorn print, pitched out to the curb. I'm sure I heard it sobbing that its useful days were over. Oh no, not to my eyes! I saw all kinds of potential.

Apparently the print and paper backing were holding the frame together. A few clicks of the staple gun solved that problem.
I popped open a can of paint...that had been notified to be on standby, and pulled the brush from the plastic bag where it was still wet from the last quick project.

There, that IS better. Yep, I like using the frame like this. Until I think of something else to try...such as move the "dangling" spoon! It's all just rescued "stuff" and so I'm happy!

I hope your day is happy too! And remember, just "Do Your Best". That is all!

Love, Rachel

  15. I love it, it looks fantastic. Rescued items so very pretty! I may need to "steal" your frame idea... whenever I come across an old one that just needs a little help like yours did. Great job, Rachel!

  16. Wonderful rescue! I really like the new wall arrangement. A great tip on keeping a brush ready. I'm always cleaning my brushes. I think I've cleaned out more paint than has been painted on things. You keep inspiring us.

  23. I'm catching up on blogs - I love what you did with the frame. I feel the same way when I see something with potential abandoned. Must rescue! I found a great Currier and Ives "God Bless Our Home" print at an auction. It has water damage, but I'm going to see if I can rescue it with a mat that strategically covers the stains. If I can do it, I'll post it on my blog.

Rachel, you always come up with a great creative solution!

Thank you so much for taking time to leave a comment. It is sorta like a sweet visit on the porch. In this busy world with so many places to go and things to do, I value the time you spend here with me.
